FORREST FIRE "INCENDIE DE FORÊT"
Aerial photos of a forest fire in Bormes Les Mimosas, Cote d'Azur, South France
Recently I showed the following pictures on an exhibition in Feldkirch, Austria called Potentiale. Now I also wanna show it to you.
This summer we went on a road trip to the Mediterranean coast of southern France, also called the blue coast "Cote d'Azur". Already from far away, we could see the scars from a forest fire. Since I had my drone with me, it was clear that I wanted to capture this destruction from above.
Abandonment, quiet and dark
. . . . . but still a place and ground for new life.
Even from a distance, you can see this mountain with bare, black skeleton.
For us as a guest an impressive, fascinating picture, this abstract world as we find it here.
The ground is still warm after two weeks even you can feel it well.
For the local people a big fright, fear, and destruction.
The fire was stopped but leaving sores and watery eyes.
This abstract world, if you are just an observer, you just look at things, with a certain distance.
You pick out the things you want to see.
But if I'm involved, it's hard to be just an observer.
I see borders, but also colours and I recognise individuals who stand the whole.
